They don't they just get a random bonus when they have pvp'd for 3 and a half hours.
Wouldn't mind a random soj appearing in akara when I get 200 kills in blood moor either, damn d2 fucking owns this game blind folded with its arms tied behind its back

agreed, dont look at it like its 3.5 hours worth of work, if u enjoy pvp, its free silver
but it's not free.... there's an opportunity cost.
even assuming there were no other rewards you could still do other things to get massively more resources in the same amount of time, but outside of that there's like 500 other sinks in the shop (it's 12 pages+ of honing mats alone), it's not like people will burn through all the rewards quickly
the silver in its current state is almost completely worthless and will never be purchased.
it would take 15 hours of consecutive pvp after you've purchased ALL of the weekly rewards other than silver to get a single honing chance at 1360+
how many hours do you guys actually think there are in a week. You'd have to be playing 16+ hours a day 7 days a week and not doing ANYTHING but pvp... there cant actually be people that think this is a good system right?
/e just added it up, every other weekly item in the shop combined including the honor rewards totals to 59,600 PVP coins. The silver bags alone cost 250,000 on a weekly basis *in their current state*
Using a 50% winrate, at 5 minutes per game, assuming 0 downtime between queues and 0 sleep, pissing, shitting, you would be able to achieve 25,920 theoretical maximum PVP tokens per day, or 181,440 per week.
You guys think it's intended that the weekly silver would take nearly a month of not eating, sleeping, or having any downtime, to get 1 million silver, when you can get that in 5-6 quests in Feiton?
The prices are so disproportionate that it's crazy someone would think this was a deliberate game design... Scaling it back to just the weekly rewards you would already have to play over 12 hours a day 7 days, pure PVP to be able to buy all the other rewards. Not to mention daily chaos dungeons, guardian raids, abyss dungeons, weekly quests, cubes, tower, whatever else you had planned on doing. How is it reasonable to assume that this resource was implemented "as a sink" for the players who are doing more than 12 hours per day 7 days a week in PVP...
