How does this work exactly? (I don't even know what the difference between t2 and t3 even means.. I've only leveled to 50 then stopped, so please speak like the noob I am)

when u reach lvl 50 u can upgrade your gear. the higher ilvl u get the stronger the guardian raids get. t1 guardian raids are the first 4 guardians u can do. t2 is the next 4 guardians u can do at 500ish(dont remember that good) They drop items/crafting materials etc.

If u want to buy a boost we group up and kill him together, which will be pretty fast cause of my high ilvl

Ah, so is the goal to get crafting gear or is it to get better equipment?

u get both and with the materials u can upgrade the gear to higher ilvl gear.
Guardian raids are the only encounters where u cant see the health bar. they take long time killing when everyone is on the recommended item lvl and are overall not so fun to play thats why peolpe buy boost for it.
