what does the gold do in this game?
what are some great resources to look at/watch

Gold can be used for most items in the game including most shop items via their trade system (gold for gems). It's also used for purchases on the auction house.
Maxroll.gg has some pretty good guides for each class. They're not always 100% correct, but they're a very good place to start looking at a build/engravings etc.

Apart from maxroll and sywo that have been said, KanonXO and Zealsambitions. They might be a bit clickbaity but they go over most of the questions new players have in their videos and quite in depth as well.

the tutorial is about 50 hours of play time long

the game doesnt really start until lvl 50 (max level)

in which you grind for gear.

to grind for better gear.

the best part of this game starts at ilvl 1325
long journey but very worthy

use maxroll website helps u a lot, and in my opinion go with the "rush to t3" guide

and sell the sellable honing materials u gona make ton of gold

first and foremost, check if your country is supported lol
