Looking at topics in this forum, there is very little trading activity in this forum.
Which seems kind of weird to me since there's a shitload of players and it seems like you need a neverending supply of gold.
Usually shortly after the release of such a highly anticipated game there is a huge amount of trading going on.

Why is it that this game doesn't seem to have a decent trading activity on d2jsp?

I Think People are using it for themselves atm.
When excessive gold, mats w/e hits the trading will start

mats are needed for any progression, and we are limited right now in everything.

Also the AH ecnonomy is healthy.

When people start hitting level 50 on a bigger scale, I think the gates will open.
