I'm embarrassed to say that I just learned about the game about a week ago, but I'm incredibly hyped!

I used to play a lot of WoW and I really enjoyed playing the healer/support role in MMORPGs (Resto Druid for life!), which has helped me narrow down my class choice down to Bard or Paladin.

I'm terribly indecisive and was hoping the JSP community could help me make my final decision before launch.

From what I've seen on the internet, Bard is the "pure" support class and even though they are support they can still do their dailies, but with the con of having to take more time compared to other classes. Paladin on the other hand is more of the melee/DPS support class, but I understand that they are support first and foremost and that DPS paladins are a bit of a meme.

I'm interested in both PvP and PvM if that helps with your suggestions.

Man I'm having the exact same dilemma.. always loved the roll as a support healer (played a lot of Overwatch) I was leaning more towards pally, mainly for the sake of maybe more firepower? I'm worried if I choose bard id be disappointed in the damage output in solo play. I hear she can hold her own for the most part and I'm sure she can dish it out. but I'm really on the fence too lol.

In solo play most of the harder stuff has a matching system so you can get carried and early on when game comes out it should be super quick to find teammates. You can also just play a DPS class and once you hit 50 you can pay 600 gold to level a character to 50 and skip a bunch of the starter quests which is probs your best bet.

Best bet for you would be to download the RU client and English patch and try the characters at least in the "trial" area so you can get a feel for them. I played a few hours just to get my feet wet and settled myself on the bard.

paladin for me, but just cause of the gameplay, not like one is better than the other, both are top picks so, you should just check out wich one has the gameplay that u like the most but both are op supps

Also artist will release at some point and she is a support so if you like her playstyle you could just play DPS classes until artist release.

With the NA/EU release you’ll be able to (apparently) auto-level alts with in-game gold from 10-50, so you won’t really need to pick, levelling a character from 1-50 takes about 15 hours of gameplay only btw.
