You dont HAVE to buy fg to get stars, you can offer your fg for a person to donate $ in your name which will count towards stars too. So you could in theory get all the stars without actually spending a dollar, however the amount of fg it would take is astronomical. The old graphic that had the star amounts leaked was like $75,000 for the final star, which was before they added several more.
