Same here, bought both gold and plat but the community manager did say the gifts can be opened on your "mains" assuming it's in your mailbox and you can just redeem it like you would with your original pack.

The new gift can be claimed on any server according to the community manager, as for your current gear however, only the tradable ones are able to be transferred via the mailbox or you can sell them on the AH etc.. your current bound items are still bound to the character(s) you have on the server.
