So with all the d4 hype I might plau through diablo 3. Last time I played it was the begining of the week it came out, any suggestions on first character. I'm going to have to probably buy expansions etc

How do seasons work. Is it like ladder on d2?

there are some similarities and differences

there are leaderboards, so its somewhat competitive
fresh start, etc, so the same in this aspect

but each season has a theme to it, for example for s19 the theme is basically the rampage buff from PoE
your character gets bonuses based off of kill streaks

edit: also balance changes are usually made every season, so the meta may change

trying to remember some others,
another theme was instead of finding 1 treasure goblin, u'd find 2

last season, 3 circles would spawn around u that gave random buffs

Do you start at level 1 with nothing aswell? What happens to character after season?

yea every1 starts at lvl 1 and from scratch

character gets moved to its parent, so regular softcore or HC if you play that

every1 hates on this game cuz its very dumbed down in terms of your character customization
theres usually only 1 or 2 viable builds for each class, typically a push build and a speed farm

u get your end game gear by the end of the first weekend typically (usually releases on a friday)
all thats left is min maxing

e: i personally have fun at the start of each season, then get bored after a week or 2
its fun to lvl and gear up with a buddy, the early push hype, etc
