Hi Guys!

I know this has been debated many times, but I can't seem to find logic in using the Fist of Fury rune on WotHF.

I'm using Full Monkey King Set (Sub Gyana's with Ring of Royal Grandeur), Rivera's, Kyoshi's, Vengeful Wind, Scarbringer, Bastion's of Will, Spirit Guards on higher GR's. Pretty Standard Build.
I am Paragon 786 and can clean sweep GR 81 in >15 mins.

I understand Fist of Fury usage on prior patches because of the doubled proc rate for Legendary Gems like Mirinae. But those builds are no longer viable. WotHF is not used for damage whatsoever. It is simply used to proc Spirit Guards and Build Spirit.
Even with the weapon % stacks of Fist of Fury, the damage is completely negligible. The only source of competitive Damage is Lashing Tail Kick because is boosted by the many variables of Rivera's, Gyana's and Monkey King 6 Set Bonus.
WotHF are granted none of those bonuses. Anything less than 2 Billion Damage is not usable. Weapon % Damage means nothing.

Meanwhile, Assimilation increases ALL SOURCES of damage. Dashing Strike in to a large group and get 7-8 stacks of Assimilation which quite literally DOUBLES my stat sheet DPS. This is reflected in my Lashing Tail Kick crits that can climb 70B+ without any additional buffs. (With full buffs, stricken and power shrine, biggest crit 550 Billion+)
Even Blazing Fists makes much more sense to me as it increases overall attack speed and thus, more Lashing Tail Kick damage.

Why are so many of the elite 2.4.2 S8 Monks who are GR90+ using Fist of Fury?

What am I missing?

Thanks guys!

Because if i recall, FoF rune helps in maintaining Sweeping Wind stacks so you can worry less in micro managing it.

Even if that is true, I can't see that being worth the sacrifice over an average 30% DPS boost (6 stacks) for 5 seconds.

My crit rate is 52%. VERY rarely am I concerning myself with SW Stacks. Only against single targets like Rift Guardians.

I move away every 10 seconds for 2 seconds to regain stacks from Kyoshiro's and jump back in. The minor lost time at RG's is more than made up for the by large DPS bonus I get over the course of the entire rift run.

Thank you Mewlad for the response, sincerely. I just am not sold on that SW management alone.

Anyone else?

Thanks!
