Most sites suggest the Thrill of the Hunt-Cull of the weak combo,

Is thrill of the hunt really necessary when you have Bane of the Trapped gem's aura slowing everything down?

bot aura is 15 yards which is pretty much melee range
Thrill of hunt procs enemies outside of that range
