if I use a level 50 jewel on a certain anciens item,, can I go and use a level 70 jewel on the same anciens ?

Yes, but it will overwrite the lvl 50 gem stat

A math dude worked out that when you upgrade the Caldesanns, you should do it by 20 lvls. So punching them in at 50 and then at 70 is ideal.
