There are some random, some set mods, depending on the item. Mostly random ones.

Seems dumb. People say "items are too alike in D2"

Obviously for specific classes and for specific builds you will always have an optimum stat on a given item...

People will be looking for the exact same item regardless if the mods are random or not and who the fuck wants to grind for gear just so you can PvM faster??!?!?!

Fk finaly sum 1 day it! Yah they game hero of storm almost has a 100th of the play base of league legend! Fk they r busy try 2 get ppl 2 play it instead
