Right now i'm into a fresh crusader run on my newly carried over save file from vanilla diablo 3. and i'm planning to try and stockpile gift items so that i can eventually use my save as a mule save on my second account.

to that end i'm playing my save from my mule account and when i've gotten what i'm after i'll just swap my current saves between accounts.

my question however is.

is there any way to influence the chance of a gift item dropping?

at the moment my attempts to influence getting a gift for my main account revolve around duping batches of stockpiled legendaries across from my mule save and then selling them in my main save since they're no use to me.

however the next time i send a batch across (which will be in about 10 minutes when i finish my current run at the checkpoint in leoric's manor) i'm going to salvage the items and then sell off the materials and gems. to see if that has any effect

any idea if i'm on the right track?
