Right now im using the legendary token which gains access to all skills. The arcane craftable xbow because it was the only one i had. A physical damage monk soj with 30% elite damage. A dex unity ring with cc and 13% elite damage and a random legendary amulet with dex, cc, physical damage and life on hit (best one i had stashed)

Stats 350k dps and barely any toughness/heal

I couldnt find much current information about follower builds ive heard using a bk ring is a good way to maximize your followers damage with the token that makes him invincible because it constantly drains life. But what do you reckon a good way to make your scoundrel do alot of dps is? Should i focus on elemental damage adjacent to the xbows damage type or are there some nice legendaries that make a good addition?

(I decided scoundrel was probably best for my monk seeming it has the increase critical chance skill which is great for my monk because i use the frozen bell skill which freezes when it does a critical hit.)

im assuming your on 360 still which is not a bad dps for a scoundrel I would have to look @ what mine does but I don't think you can get much higher than that

My advice for high follower dps in priority order:

invincible token:
-> max main stat
-> 95-100% crit dmg

amulet (preferably ess of johan):
-> max main stat
-> socket with highest main stat gem
-> 7% atk speed
-> 10% crit chance

rings:
-> max main stat
-> socket with highest main stat gem
-> 7% atk speed
-> 6% crit chance

weapon:
-> as fast weapon as possible (bow > xbow; dagger > sword > axe > mace)
EXCEPT you have a specific weapon effect in mind, for example thunderfury on templar or windforce for scoundrel or or or...
-> socket highest lvl ruby for more dps
-> high main stat roll

-> follower should get to ~1m dps with these

since he gets invincible you can ignore vita/all res/heal etc. completely and focus your mercs gear completely on offensive stats and/or specific legendary item effects.

important info: merc crit dmg can not get over 150%. they have 50% without any items which is why you want 95-100% on your token so you can focus on main stat/socket with main stat gem/crit/atk speed.
