Why is there still no pvp in diablo 3 ?? What excuses does blizzard have to not do some number tweaking and do arena-style pvp ???

That would add competition and as you can see from boa they don't want that at all.

You guys do know in act 1 when in town there is a place you can go if you want to fight other players

They made the gear way to good. If there was pvp it would be 1 hit everything

Nothing in this game disappoints me more than the fact that back when the game was in Beta they advertised all kinds of pvp style maps and then never implemented any of it

What does that have to do with anything.

Of course pvp would have its own mechanics, arenas, migitations.
There could even be separate pvp items. Paragon could be taken out completely etc etc.

It's just lazy design like the rest of the game.

this game is designed to never disappoint the player
if a boss is too difficult, try on a lower difficulty
if you dont seem to progress, lower difficulty
you are fully equiped after a few hours
complete content is available for everybody, even for the worst casual there is
the purpose of infinite scaling is to create the illusion of reaching the top for the real hardcore players, even though the top is the exact same thing as the middle or the bottom
there is no climbing up a mountain, you just walk a straight line with no end in sight

an arena would actually make the player literally lose in a game created to never lose anything

hope you see the dilemma here

the irony is, that the concept of never disappointing the player is the real disappointment
