could anyone give me some pointers in terms of equipment needed / skills etc.

of course i know everything is upgradable etc but what is optimal equipment for a petdoctor now

just look at the top of the ladder for your class and just copy his build.

Quickest solution here would be getting Zunimassa's set and SMK, but SMK can take a while to find. When you get 2 piece Zuni set or SMK (whichever comes first), swap out Gargantuan for Fetish Army.

As for legendary gems, keep enforcer, and add in Gem of Efficacious Toxin, and Bane of the Trapped.

Another really good build is Zunimassa set with Dagger of Darts and Carnevil.

thanks very much for help. so basically i gotta farm a dod or smk coz i have carnevil and zunis set in stash also.

any specific area for either of them? or just rifts / grifts till either drops?

Dont do this, the players on ladders have specific gear for their builds so it wouldn't work if u just copy their skill setups

Off all the builds i have tested, jade brought me highest in gr. 10 higher than zunimassa build...

thanks i meant jade set in my original comment, still no luck with DoD or SMK though, might just boycott the WD now and carry on with my DH

I think Wd is stronger, no other of ny chars can challenge my jade wd xD forexample Roland Pala with bugged 100k dps sword does 10 Levels lower grs xd
