Is it worth it when I have as example, 10-15m budget for my gear?
And fot = fist of thunder? Sorry I haven't been playing for while and try to get catch on it again :D
And thanks for advice :)

e: also then stone of jordan with lightning dmg extra fits well too?

e2: not forgetting inna's helm for fot dmg, or sweeping wind dmg > fot dmg in this case?

Check my monk for wkl combo.

It depends on the build, your playstyle and ultimate goals with the monk. What are those? Some things like innas pants almost every monk uses. Some monks dual wield Echoing fury, Won Khim Lau, Butcher's Sickle, fat Rare; other monks like to 2h wield a Skorn with high dps. Inna's helm is another item that many use and if you want tempest rush/bell build you will need spirit regen. If a pure tempest rush monk build you'll need 4 piece innas set ideally, with a soj to get your spirit regen up. My answer is vague because the question is vague; if you give a more clear idea of what you want to do/what type of monk you want to build (i.e. Paragon farming monk, High mp uber monk, dual wield, 2hander, solo, group, straight MF monk, etc.)

I started with a DH, kind of liked it but moved onto a Wizard fairly quickly and then got fed up, or in reverse. The problem was they were too squishy/not tanky enough and I hated it. I moved to a monk next and LOVED it, and after patch 1.0.7 I can safely say monk is the best and most fun class to play. Tempest rush around the map once and drop some bells then you'll see. WW Barbs seemed pretty fun, but we get many former barbs coming in here to roll monks. You made a good choice and are in good hands with jinshin.

He will set you up nicely w/ your monk. He gave me a few simple pieces of advice and changed my world and monk 100%; these guys know their stuff and the monk community here seems much like what you'd expect from a monk in real life; friendly understanding and non-aggressive, lol. Maybe in the pvp thread the monks are more shaolin-esque and less budda, but either way it's a great group here.

Most fun = standard bells build. Once you get going, all of these terms will make sense.

That is the build, some people switch up:

Fist of Thunder: Thunderclap, Crippling Wave: Rising Tide.
Exhalted soul for fleet footed or another passive like Seize The Initiative or One With Everything (chant of resonance and guardians seem to be the only 2 required, other optional)
Air ally for Serenity: Ascension

I've also seen the rune on Sweeping wind with Cyclones instead of Inner Storm, but I have not seen a huge advantage in this trade-off

Have fun!

I think that now Blinding Flash no longer gets snapshotted with sweeping wind that the "tempest rush build" is approximating the "bells/tr build" now. IF you run a bells build with TR, then you probably are doing the "new" TR build. What happened was BF became less useful, wave of light got a buff (bell dmg) so they got subbed in.

The only thing you may "need" is likely a two hander. I haven't seen many dual wield tempest rush builds, though anything is possible. Problem is your spirit regen needs to be high enough to sustain a regen of spirit while spending it. If you have under 11 spirit/sec without the templar (if you want to play w/ others) you will need more spirit regen gear.

Soj is a good choice and shouldn't be too expensive. Should have 2+ spirit regen. Inna helm w/ SR is also helpful. Other than that you can usually use whatever gear you have and if your spirit regen is low you just won't be able to turn on the TR jets and infinitely rush around the map; You will need to manage spirit and be more tactical but it's doable still. What's your profile again, I lost it. I had it somewhere
/e Your monk is Bishop with the litany and dual wield setup?

You can still do TR dual wield, it's just that a slow 2h weapon manages spirit the best. Yours, the spirit will run out because of faster attack speed, but that's ok. You won't be able to do an "infinite tempest rush" build, but can still try that build I linked up there. Test it out, see how your spirit is and if you lose it too quickly, you may need some swap-out gear like a soj
