Yes if my friend robbed an old man DIDN'T TELL ME WHERE HE GOT THE MONEY (ofc he wont) and gave it to me for being a friend ofc I would be the owner.

but blizz isn't an old man it is a greedy company?...

i love how people try to compare blizzard (this massive super power in the gaming industry) to an old person

hahahhah it's a hilarious comparison but somewhat accurate cuz only old people could be this susceptible

When you get rolled back, EVERYTHING is account bound.

Thats the system they just implemented.

If they did do a complete roll back of some sort without bounding, and even if it was successful, they would have a shit storm from many people who were in the situation i explained.

Maybe i'm being too vague?
They could easly have rolled back the servers to the pre-downtime for patch install state. (without binding every single char's gear on the entire US server)
Yes, they are binding peoples gear now who they feel exploited the bug.
Had they done that rollback on tuesday night, we would be playing as usual. (no market fluxuation, no economy scare, no drama)
The cost of doing business i was speaking of would be the RMAH activity during the dupe window (about 12 hours) They would have to refund all purchases and eat the cost of all items sold.
They can put a number on that.
The rmah has been down for days at this point, they have banned hundreds of accounts, they have made thousands more accounts boa/worthless, they have put unease in the market because everyone assumes they won't find all the duped gold.

they should have just rolled back

You also have too look at the money side of it.

They will profit major from this since every single trade will be happening in the rmah now (at least things that are worth half a shit).

So there are people that will be taking the side of money too.

I said from the moment it happened "rollback guaranteed" and it didn't happen to my surprise.
However it makes sense now why it isn't happening for a multitude of different reasons.

you say you rob from an old man and the person that gives the money away doesn't keep is confidential
then you say the gold dupe wasn't confidential.
That is a contradiction because indeed many people in the time of it all knew nothing of the gold dupe
I meant more specifically contradicting everything I say***
If you compare two things at least make it accurate.

If someone on the streets came up to you and gave you $100 bill would you say OH WAIT I cannot take this I have to know where you got it first.

Dafuq you sayin?
you can take it but if the police track it down and realize it doesn't belong to you but belongs to the old man it should be rightfully returned to the old man.

In the court of law the person at fault is the theft not the person that it was givin to :)
