i wasn't undermining you I was pointing out your post was correct..and adding in my information from release day to current that this glitch is nothing more then something to piss you off

Yep. The glitch is due to a bug in Blizz's chat code. (Why they still can't manage to copy/paste code from WoW is beyond me)

again, so why are some showing 4 sets of numbers, some 5, some 6?

ok, id'ed these (which according to everyone are all supposed to be 4 mod items)

in order

1. hellion, +192 str, 57% crit dmg, 2.4% life leech, socket

2. rev bow, 211-431 lightning dmg, +117 int, 1894 life after kill, socket

3. rev bow, 34-90 fire dmg, +107 str, +128 dex, +118 vit, 93% crit dmg

4. rev bow, +14 max dmg, +90 str, +92 dex, +181 int, socket

5. rev bow, 52-121 arcane dmg, 2.5% slow, inc dmg to elites 6%, lvl req reduced by 12

seems like some of the stats were double rolls,if thats true then  so far each had 4 mods as expected i think

If you'd like, I can show you all of Blizz's code (well, what I've reversed of it) that handles this stuff. There's absolutely *zero* stats given to the client before it's ID'd. (Exception being base stats, item level, required level, and generic rarity of course) What you see in the item link, only tells you the base stats for the item. Nothing more. Period. (Even 6 property items, aren't shown as Rare6 quality before being ID'd)

This still might be useful in determining the total number of stats an item will have

i mean, even if the codes are crap/impossible to tell, the difference between a potential 4 mod item and a 6 mod item is huge

maybe..i doubt it as the numbers generally seem random and nothing is consistent, its nothing more then a parser glitch in the chat during linking

even if you can figure out how to tell if theres 5 or 6 props..will go from random # of shit rolls to knowing if its 5 or 6 shit rolls :D

have different number of codes after the colon and before the -1, 0, etc

for example item 1 has 5 numbers, item 2 has 4 numbers, item 3 has 6...and so far it seems to correspond to the number of props an item has? if all they were giving was base stats, item level, req level, generic rarity, wouldnt all of these have the same # of codes?

I had a fun ass time fucking around with these item codes shortly after release. More fun than playing the game. I "made" this. :P

5 stats

so basically the first two (bolded) sets of numbers you ignore
the italicized are what you pay attention to
