Try this cookie cutter build:

Aim for:
Armour..... 5K+
Life.........45K+
Res........ 600 +
Ehp ....... 650K+


Set bonus 130 dex
Inna helm: 170dex, 70 vita, double res over 100, 6cc
Inna pants: 80dex, 170 vita

Set bonus 7cc
Nats boots: 180dex, 60 vita, 70 all res
Nats ring: high avg dmg or double dex, res, cd, vita if possible

BT chest: high vita (200+), dex, double res over 120 (ehp slots here)

VW: 200 dex, 60 vita, double dex over 110

WH: dex, vita, res

MH: EF with dex, vita OS
OH: 750+ fat rare with dex, vita, LS, 80+cd, OS

Bracer: high dex, vita, double res over 100 and 6cc

Gloves: high dex, cc, cd, res, (vita & Tri if possible)

Jewelry: avg dmg, dex, vita, res, cc, cd/ias

For even more dmg if you have extra gold:
Mempo w/ high dex & cc
Inna chest w/ high dex, vita, res
LS, OS WKL or super fat rare, dex, 90+cd, LS, OS

Ive just dueled som barbs and i won most the time with one-hit-ko bells but sometimes i died from rend. How do u guys handle rend?

and when you get rended, you can tell if its non crit rend or crit rend.

If it's crit rend, you must have get it off with serenity asap.

If it's non crit rend, you probably won't die if you have pretty good ehp. and try to have at least 1,000 lps to mitigate the non crit rend.

I was also wondering about the barb rend.
The non crit ones ... my ehp can mitigate it.
The crit ones does crazy damage and sererinty is the only way to counter it ... hug walls and wait for cooldown and life regen.
Avg barbs only takes a bell or 2.

I should really make a monk pvp strategy topic, so we can talk about pvp separately.

For barb fights, we have three engagement points.

1. blind is up
2. serenity is up
3. sss is up

The most ideal situation is to taunt the barb with couple bells to make him pop his IP. Kite around til it gets off.

Then run in, sss with pandamonium. He gets stun. Turn on overawe bonus. Bell him couple times. You should count the time in your head.

When he's 'almost' out of the sss stun, blind him with faith rune, overawe bonus, bell.

If this doesn't kill him or he some how runs away, simply regen your shit and don't get rend.

If he's chasing you, you can drop a bell to knock him back or just juke him through the objects on the map.

It's extremely important to have spirit regen on the vs barb gear set.

Sometimes when I pvp top end barbs, barb and I engage on and off for more than 1 minute easy. It's very intense and it's important to be able to regen hp and spirit while both are speculating.
