Im at 2.05 ias and the thunderclap works very nicely.

So I have about 5mill and currently getting more. My monk is stuck in inf act1, but I'm aiming to gear up for act3 or act4. I basically want to overgear out the ass so I easily roll through to act3 or act4.

What are the stats I should be aiming for? What items should I be looking to get? Do we even have any best in slot items? How much more gold should I farm up for?

Woo, finally killed Diablo tonight after a bunch of attempts. P3 is a pain in the ass, but I finally realized that staying on his tail with FoT+Thunderclap is a far more reliable strategy than trying to run in and out of his fireballs.

Some things worth noting:
-- Act 4 is really easy to get through once you have enough gear to semi-reliably farm Cydaea and Azmodan. That is to say, the gear required to complete Act 4 fairly quickly is the gear you need to farm Act 3 semi-quickly.
-- Izual is a bitch. I had to respec to kill him.
-- Then again, for my first kill on Diablo, I had to try out a bunch of different specs too, and settled on the one in the screenshot below.

does the life on hit thing trigger on every hit of crippling wave or just the first one?
same for way of the hundred fists

they are all 3 hits combos so 3 time trigger (on each foe you hit)

does LoH work on AoE damage? like on fist of thunder with thunderclap rune.

it should work if it's generated by a direct hit, for example:

crippling wave with the last rune that increases the range (allowing u to hit more enemies) will work
the aoe dmg generated by WoHF with fist of fury rune (that last 5 secs) will not

that's my opinion, wait for more ppl to check if they agree or i'm wrong

Hey all, I just completed A4 on my monk and I thought I would contribute since this post helped me out.

I started playing monk 4 days ago and have 25hours /played on him, needless to say i am not a skilled monk. Regardless diablo was easy (first try 20% p3, 2nd try down) compared to my 200+ hours /played wiz with 5x better gear.

I spent about 5-6mil max on all my gear, most of it going into the weap and string of ears. Here are my stats for a3+ (I had worse for a1 and a2):



skills used:

serenity - ascension
blinding faith - faith in the light
breath of heaven - blazing wrath
mantra of evasion - hard target

fists of thunder - thunderclap
sweeping wind - bladestorm

resolve
seize the initiative
one with everything

edit to mention that I used these skills pretty much 99% of inferno, tried various builds but none of them fit my playstyle like these.
