tbh you're fine for A3.  you may run into trouble in the late parts of A3, but as people are saying, just get a bit more attack speed and hp and you should do alright.

and as people said, it gets expensive here.  upgrades - even simple ones - will start costing you anywhere from 500k to 3m.

500k? More like 3 mil - 6 mil per upgrade generally, for tiny small upgrade -.- I hate our economy

Only if you're impatient. I've managed to upgrade myself by just watching the AH a lot and picking up some really cheap and good upgrades.

I'm working on Diablo right now, and here's the price of the pieces I'm currently using:
-- Helm -- found
-- Amulet - 4m (a blue 14ias/600LoH ammy -- just won a bid on this last night, was a huge splurge - but I got it at about 1-2m cheaper than anything else on the AH)
-- Belt - ~500k
-- Bracers - found
-- Chest - ~550k (I bet its resale value is millions though)
-- Pants - ~750k
-- Gloves - 2.25m (140+ vit/dex/ias 40 cold res gloves)
-- Shield - 100k (ridic buy, 120+ total resists, 90+ dex, 30 vit, 1200 armor)
-- Ring #1 - ~300k
-- Ring #2 - ~500k (or maybe 1m)
-- Boots - 2.5m (splurge buyout!)

The best thing was, I recouped a lot of my costs by selling the pieces I replaced for a little less than (or sometimes... a lot more than) what I bought the upgraded piece for. :)

My weapon is a 1k dps axe that I bought from the trading forums a long time ago for an arm and a leg... but that doesn't quite count. :)

O.o

I mean, I thought I had a really hard time with my monk because I bought a slow weapon (1.30 weapon speed) which made itemization incredibly difficult/expensive (I have like, 5 IAS pieces of armor/jewelry to make up for the fact that I have a slow weapon with no IAS and marginal LoH on it). But I certainly have yet to spend 5m on any single piece.

more ias = more life heal + more spirit regen + more CC

Attack speed: 1.32

get more!

monk use spirit, get some in monk-only-gear
starting a fight whit full spirit > loosing all spirit on prebuffing
and ofc, overall more spirit use in combat

resorces regeneration and life-''heal'' is one of most important stats in diablo3, almost overlooked bye everyone!

Question, since it's best to concentrate on one resist in order to have the most resist as possible with one with everything... does it stack if it's like 40 lightning resist and 20 all resist? Making it 60 lightning resist.
I've heard no... I've heard yes, don't know which it is.

yep it does. definetly.

does anyone know if going full dps with two 1handers + attack speed and loh is better for monks on act 3?

or should i stick to tanking with all res and sword + shield?

dont have enough money to purchase the necessary items for trial and error testing, so was wondering if anyone would know which is better

if you are able to maintain stats well enough to take hits then dual weilding is possible. however if losing your shield makes you die too fast, LoH will not be very effective.
