NDE isn't getting buffed, I think they just changed the language.

Buff to cyclones will be nice in the wake of losing 30% dmg. so it's only a 24% dmg loss... xD

TR gets a HUGE buff but people will want to play higher MPs at this point I think.

All the buffs seem to be favoring a 2H build... they are buffing skills based on weapon damage%...

Not necessarily 2h builds...just high spirit spenders.

Here's a note I wrote in /r/Diablo:

"I think a big problem is spirit spenders scale well with 2 handers, hi dps big hits, but spirit regen scales with fast attack speed. These must be reconciled to see true build diversity."

If regen was addressed, these changes would be a huge buff to all types of builds.

That said, some of the buffs are good enough that I think the Monk community will be pulling out some stops in order to address and overcome Spirit generation issues. If we have an INFINITE tempest rush build, I'm sure we can find ways to gear and spec for better spirit flow to take advantage of some other skills.

Fist Of Thunder:Thunderclap
Deadly Reach:Foresight
Breath of Heaven:Blazing Wrath
Serenity:Ascension
Sweeping Wind:Cyclone
Mantra of Conviction:Overawe

Combination Strike : Near Death Experience : (Resolve or something else)

Tab Skills are almost the same as the old cookie cutter, just dropping Blinding Flash as the buff is no longer permanent on SW. Blinding flash has lost a lot of its value in the coming 1.07 while combination strike build will rise if you wanna keep your dps.
NDE buff will be a great addition to your passives if you hate dying at all.

i don't use OWE coz i've managed to move away from this. All res is the way to go for high end monks.

All the buffs to monk are great and i already have a good idea of what build to master.

anyways some of the spells i think still sucks
1)Sanctuary - aoe problem and still forces one to stick in that position
2)Guiding Light - too small aoe

Whatcha all think?

near death experience is just so good for pvp

saving our asses TWICE in every minute

and gives us spirit as well as hp, so that can do some major twist for us in the pvp

and blinding flash was sick not because it was used for snapshoting.

it's stun + 30% burst dmg is just sick especially with overawe

i think most of high end guys are at like 200k unbuffed, buffed with couple mods and blind put us at like 400k for 3 seconds. that's sick.

i dont really pay attention to buffing with blind and i still think its worth it.

infact even more worth it now for some one like me, reading into as the datamined stuff says each strike refreshes the stack. for the 3 seconds i get the 30% dmg from blind the 6-7 nados i create will have that buiffed dmg while before those 6-7 nados were my base dmg.

As much as i can't wait to try the pvp i think it will be fail without some kind of way to find random/public opponents. I really hope they add a random 4 man ffa pvp que or somthing.

with all these buffs im glad i finally stopped being a jew and spent all my fg on my monk :D

For a PvP Build, I'm thinking something like this: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aZXdgk!aeU!aYbbYb

~ Active Skills ~

Fists of Thunder - Thunderclap
The knockback and teleport just seem so nice for PvP, getting to the target will be a good part of the battle, since most classes are ranged.

Lashing Tail Kick - Scorpion Sting
Since spirit spenders are getting buffed, I'm hoping the damage on this will. Scorpion for that nice stun that should be effective for PvP.

Breath of Heaven - Blazing Wrath
Pretty obvious, a heal with a dmg buff.

Dashing Strike - Quicksilver
Like I said, getting to your target may or may not be a challenge but regardless, this "teleport" skill with a root effect could not be sexier. Quicksilver for a cheaper cost.

Serenity - Ascension
Immune to all damage, very nice when you're up close and personal with another melee char or even with ranged. I may or may not switch Ascension with Instant Karma, this will need some testing.

Mantra of Conviction - Dishearten
Damage buff, and probably will need the spirit to cast other skills (Lashing Tail Kick / Dashing Strike) so use Dishearten, slow the enemies!

~ Passives ~

Resolve - Reduce enemy's damage, why not?

Pacifism - I imagine there to be plenty of stuns, fears, charms etc. So while under these effects you don't want to be too vulnerable. 75% less damage is a LOT I'd say!

One With Everything - I think this one is pretty obvious.

My heart was set on Monk for PvP since day 1. Took a look at all the skills and just thought this was gonna be my thing.

2020? Nah, some other world apocalypse will have killed us by then.
