Hello KimSulki84, hello all Monks :-)
I recently got back to playing D3 with RoS after a long time of playing Path of Exile. I knew a lot about the mechanics of this game but it is a long time ago and things have changed, things were forgotten. I think I remeber the name Jinshin and you were always helping people out in the Monk thrat back then, thank you for your ongoing contribution to the community

I decided to play Monk because I felt I have a lot of options to build my character.
My original intent was to get some cooldown reductions, use Wave of Light with the reduced cost rune and ring those bells. (With a 2-handed weapon so I could also use Tempest Rush a lot)
Now a friend of mine has given me a nice Shard of Hate which I managed to roll an additional socket into on the first attempt

Since I started, I have tried the Exploding Fist and I really liked it - I was not entirely useless among my friends who played since the release of RoS. So now I am leaning between some (two-handed(?)) heavy Spirit spender or a build that uses the Shard of Hate. I guess fast attack speed come in handy for SoH. Can you point me into a direction build-wise so I am not doing silly things?^^
I would love to use Exploding Palm with the 20% increased damage rune to have both a strong AoE skill and a strong buff vs single targets. On top of that a strong and reliable single target skill for bosses would be perfect. Is something like this efficiently possible? Using SoH in the most efficient way would be nice, but it is optional.
I also have some questions about damage calculations:
* If I have 10% increased fire damage and 10% increased [add fire skill here], how much damage will i deal? 120% or 121%? (-> Will the boni be added or multiplied?)
* If my weapon has base Arcane damage, the skill says it deals fire/physical damage and from my gear i get a % bonus to fire/arcane/physical damage or %bonus to fire/arcane/physical-skills. What is happening? I know about the 'black damage' thing from the pre-RoS time.
My SoH has Arcane damage by the way.
Thank you for your help in advance :-)
