You don't want to die? For 1.8b you not only can stop dying, but clear Mp10 with speed and ease.
But you have to go through a mental re-adjustment. You need to take out what Cro has taught you,
and you need to stop looking at the top DPS 400k+ Barbs. Unless you have a good 1k to drop on it.
I'll explain my choices in depth for you, but I'll also link my profile, and a different persons
profile so you get an idea.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Pokerbill05-1829/http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/DoWArMyOfOnE-1950/hero/13267441Basically you are going for 5 peice IK / Skorn. I'll give you the basics for this build.
Vitality should be on all peices except Weapon, Rings, Amulet. I choose to get life on my amulet
but it's preference.
You only need 1.29 attack speed for your skorn. This is easily obtainable on just a few peices of
gear. Amulet, Rings, and/or Gloves. Inna's pants.
Don't fall victim to Witching Hours and Ice Climbers. Yea they might make your inventory page DPS
look nicer. But in the long run, with my setup IK runs better.
Your three most important peices. IK Belt, Skorn, Inna's Pants.
IK Belt: You are looking for high strength... 260+ Any vitality, Life Steal 2.8+
but most importantly a useful skill reducer. Rend. Why buy a belt with threat shout on it that you
dont use?
Skorn: Your baby, where your hard damage comes from. You are looking for 5% Life Steal,
190+ CHD, Strength, 1300+ Weapon Damage. You are rocking a 1.8b budget, you could easily spend
1.8b and get a near perfect Skorn. Let's settle for the 700-800 mark so you can upgrade your other
peices.
Inna's Pants: First off, 9% attack speed. There's no reason to settle for the mass amount of 8% ones.
Secondly the most important part. No strength. WAIT WHAT DID HE SAY? NO STR FOR MY BABA? Yes, you
are wasting stat points that can be used in your most important stat slot. Vitality. Why gain an
extra 2k damage from a few strength points, when you can gain an extra 5-6k HP from going Vitality.
Sure stick some Strength gems in the sockets, but you are looking at Vitality on Pants. Shoot for 175+
But Bill, why are these peices so important? Well padawan, let me tell you. Survivability
8% Life Steal Free's up the Rune on your Rend, and a passive skill slot. No Need for life steal
passive anymore. Your rends with the Ravage rune will now generate more life per second than you can
think to do with. As long as rend is up you can stand still and stay alive, no need for other
actions. Your passive slot can now go several different directions. My favorite is superstition and
Thorns, however Maximus likes to go Brawler. My honest opinion on Brawler is it's just overkill.
You are adding roughly 100k more damage, but it's not really necessary. Why not extra survivability
with fury from being hit which increases your WOTB uptime.
The best part about this build, is you can use it for any scenario or any farming routine on any MP.
You want to farm Legs and get as much EXP per hour. Go Rend/WW Nado's. You will kill extremely fast,
MP10 is a breeze.
You need DE's? Simple, Bash/HOTA/Rend has proven me a bit faster for farming these. Put up rend,
Bash 3x then HOTA. Elites dead in 6-7 hits.
Want to party farm ubers or solo them? Very simple. Throw that SOJ on.
Bash/Hota/Rend... Swap one passive for Thorns. One skill slot for Warcry with Extra armor.
You are an Uber machine, you can't die because you are rocking 8% Lifesteal on Rend. More if
you use the LS rend rune for Ubers. I do. Easily rocking 9.5k+ Armor. Same deal as farming DE's.
Keep Rend up, 3x Bash. Hota for 5 seconds. Rinse repeat. My fastest time was realm of turmoil solo.
No you cannot kill the ubers in 30 seconds. It takes roughly 2 minutes with my build. However it's
virtually impossible to die, and you didn't spend 1k on a build solely for 1 purpose. Get bored of
Ubers? Just swap a few skills around and your build is A game for farming again.
I assure you, your 1.8b will be well spent investing into this build. You can easily accomplish
this build with as little as 500m and can still farm mp10. Anything over 500m is only going to
speed up the process of everything you do.
FAQ:
Q: But bill, I spent 10b on my Echoing Fury, why you no EF?
A: Simple, Hota hits harder with Skorn. Rend damage comes from main hand damage. When using a
WW/Rend build your most damage doesn't come from WW or Sprint Nados, it comes from your Rend.
Q: But but but Bill, I have so much attack speed with my EF!
A: Good job, it's not needed and still isn't doing more damage than a Skorn.
Q: But Bill, I can fear stuff and it won't hurt me with my EF!
A: Congrats, you are now fearing mobs so you have to chase them, aren't taking damage so no fury
gains there. Splitting mobs up so Rend won't hit them. And losing a lot of time chasing after 1 mob
while looking stupid doing it.
Q: Bill wait! I got you, I see the highest DPS Barb in America wearing Strength Inna's. You're wrong.
A: Yes, he also has invested roughly 300b+ on his gear since release. He can have 90 Strength on
his pants because he can afford to have perfect vitality stats on all his other peices, and on places
you can't afford.
Q: Why not a tal's chest for some more Attack Speed?
A: The required Attack Speed mark you need to hit is 1.29. You can easily achieve that from Rings,
Inna pants and either Gloves or amulet. 5 Peice IK, do not break it. You'll look stupid doing it too.
Q: But bill, Crit mempo's are the godliest of godly items in this game.
A: I agree, Mempo is an amazing item, however it's uneccesary for this buid. You don't need the
attack speed. You do need the 5 peice IK set. You get more EHP and Survivability from an IK helm.
Trust me, stick with the IK helm. Unless you are rich and can drop a few g's on this game. Stick
with my 5 peice build.
Nice write up and I built a barb based on this. But no you cannot build one for 500 MIL and do MP 10 as easily as one may think.
2 - 3 Bil is more like it. spend around 7 - 10 Bil in total (including gems) and you'll be 90% of a 250+ Bil Barb.
