I've pvped, and it was fun. It's unbalanced as hell though. So was d2's pvp.

the only thing that made d2's pvp good is that people spent a ton of time farming for the right gear to make builds that actually worked and put the effort into making pvp somewhat fair by limiting the items and skills that were allowed to be used.

If everyone sat there crying about how the "games shit" there wouldn't have been a good pvp scene.

Im not saying d3's pvp is amazing or anything, but I dont see the point of hating d3 so much. If you dont like grinding for gear then dont play arpgs. If you want to trade gear you find for fg then play another game. It's really quite simple.

every attack does millions probably fuckin billions now in D3 pvp.No matter what time you spend getting gear you're still gonna get hit for a trillion damage. The only char capable of the one shot to a strong char on d2 was the hammerdin

Games can still be fun if you get one-shot. You don't have 30 min epic duels if you get one-shot but you can still have fun. Hotspurs were considered bm on most characters because it was terribly unbalanced.....

Noone's saying that d3 has amazing pvp, its not very great but you can still fight your friends and have a good time. Assuming you have friends and don't have a terrible attitude. It's hard to enjoy things when your attitude is shit.

Pvp isn't the only aspect of a game. I prefer pvping in games personally but the reality is most arpgs these days dont have engaging pvp. Deal with it.

Another thing I dont really understand is why you complain about gear not making dueling easier. Most people would rather have pvp be a competition of skill not gear.... in d2 people would invest 50k fg into characters and get shit on by a skilled tals sorc, isnt that a good thing? TBH the way I remember it, people in d2 would complain that I had better gear than them when I'd kill them, then I'd use a tals sorc to kill them and they'd still complain. This kind of reinforces my opinion that people just have shit attitudes.

And before you argue that some of the skills in d3 are unbalanced, in d2 you werent allowed to use slow missiles, holy freeze, bone prison, life tap, ctc items, etc etc etc. because it made the duels one-sided and boring. Blizzard didn't make these rules, the players did because it was in their best interest. While whining about it wasn't in their best interest.

That was gm duels. Bm duels still existed and those skills were still used and long intense fights still pursued. I'm in a D3 guild, friends were never an issue.My attitude may be shit you are right but D2 duels were lengthy and skill played a big part like you said, tals vs an all rare'd out sorc getting shit on by the tals. In D3 a naked char could shit on a well geared char no skill required. D2 wasn't the most balanced i agree, but one shots were not so easily done. The devs just didnt care


Edit: i mained a nec lol only reason i said spurs, impossible to kill es fb without them

I personally wish you didnt get 1 shot in d3, I 100% agree with you there.

I dont really see how d2 bm duels fits into things. It's completely skillless to run around auto aiming with full sorb on and auto tping any time you got hit. Most people would be upset if a game company had that kind of a pvp system imo :P Bm dueling is what the people who couldnt compete would do so they could go post screenshots of them killing people to pretend they had skill.

I know im kind of playing the devil's advocate here, d3 isnt really all that amazing overall. But to be fair alot of people spend alot of time pretending it's the worst game on the planet just because its a typical arpg. I'm just here to be a dick and remind people that typical arpgs can be fun too. Not alot of things are fun if a person spends all of their time being negative.

Also im bored as hell and dont want to grind in d3 so im posting this shit :P

It just shouldnt be called diablo, its embarassing lol. I agree Bm was def nothing good lol, it was for scrubs. But without the hacks and mods there was usually a way around the sorb, like a strong merc lol or a poison nova wand vs those pesky es sorcs haha. D3 has none of that fun stuff :(

I've pvped, and it was fun. It's unbalanced as hell though. So was d2's pvp. Luckily pvp isn't the only thing to consider.

The funny part about all of this is that I don't even like d3 all that much. I wish it was different too. I'm just not going to cry about it, I'll just play a game that fits what I want at the time. If I just want to mindlessly slay demons I'll play d3. If I want to make fg or pvp there's plenty of other games.


I tried to PVP in D3 for a long time- it worked for a while in Vanilla and then came the stupid sets which made PVP impossible.

don't tell me its possible as I know for a fact it is not.

Blizz told us we would have PVP it would be added on in a patch. It never ever happened lol. Brawling is completely broken way more broken than anything in D2 pvp.

d3 is not a pvp game. All you are supposed to do in d3 is grind.
