How it actually works (worry not, story-time is over):

Ex. 1: Luke has 10k Hp. Luke is hit for 9k damage. Force Armor reduces that to only 35% of his health--leaving him with 6500 Hp.
Ex. 2: Luke has 10k Hp. Luke is hit for 15k damage. Force armor absorbs 10k (the maximum amount of Hp Luke has) of that 15k damage and leaves him with 5k Hp.
Ex. 3: Luke has 10k Hp. Luke is hit for 20k damage. Force armor absorbs 10k of that 20k damage--leaving him with 0 Hp.

Cool? Cool.

Why the fuck does blizzard not include important information like this on the skills....

ty for guide, looking forward to trying it

Also I have a question, I'm under the impression ias helps hydra's dps since tick marks do more damage w/ ias. Wouldn't this suggest ias on weapon is still pretty important?

hmmmm gonna try this, got gimped so much with the force armor nerf :( so I've been farming for a week now
got 25kk, should be enough to buy me an decent set

It's probably best to buy my weap last ? get my other gear first and then choose the right attacks per second on a weapon ?

If I'm not mistaken they'll reveal all the mechanics pretty soon in a guide

Based on the assumption that the main skills are blizzard and hydra, and not shocking pulse, how will choose the following weap affects? I have seen a wand that does 800 dps with523-733 damage, and an axe with 800 dps, but 612-831 damage. Although both has the same dps, the speed of attack is obviously different. In this case, which would be the prefered weap if bliz and hydra are the main focus of attack instead of shocking pulse? (I'm assuming the other will be more optimal for shocking pulse, correct me if im wrong).

yea not gonna lie, this whole weapon damage has most people confused, just when I think I figure it out..... its all off base and I'm back to being clueless again. Can someone break down a weapon they use and why its perfered over another for this build, would be greatly helpful to me and a few other people I would imagine...

As far as I understood you should calculate it like this

Lets say you have 1.3 speed on weap

do this math

2.0 / 1.3 = 1.538

now rounded up its 1.54 => you need 54% attack speed to reach 2.0 attack speed

another example

2.0 / 1.44 = 1,388 => rounded up 1,39 => 39% attack speed needed

you HAVE to round up btw
