I believe from Act 2 on both Monk and Barb are currently rendered useless - even with the BEST gear, i think youre still gonna get owned. Using all defensives like Breath of Heaven, Serenity, Blinding Flash, and Mantra of Healing I can manage maybe 10-15 seconds in the thick of it with a mob - do no where near enough damage to kill them and do a poor ass job of protecting everyone else. Now with Boon of Protection nerfed as well I really am stuck. Time to make a Wiz and solo Inferno

Currently omw to second act2 boss. You just have to pick your fights. I try every elite pack once, if it's too hard I'll skip them, if it's manageable, I'll try to kill it, even if it takes me a couple of deaths.

You have to take constant breaks though, there are so many hard packs in unskipabble parts that you just have to take a deep breath and restart game to try and get something easier.

This guy is doing it right. I think rose tinted glasses have made everyone expect that this game should be easy. This isn't ubers in D2... its supposed to be an actual challenge.

Also, all of the people who have "cleared" inferno so far have no cleared anything. Chain rezzing, skipping elites and champs. Abusing a broken game mechanic. None of those display any type of actual skill, and we should all know by now that in inferno the bosses are SOOOOO much easier than the champ groups...

the game should be fun, not frustrating. thats all. I like the game to be hard but dont like to wait 30seconds for a ressurection that will bring me to the spot were illusionary monsters with burning chains, vortex, teleport and molten will bring me down in 0.001 sek even if i run like forest gump from that place in the 'spiritual form'. going back all over the map could be i would say kinda fun if the background would be a porn video... unfortunantley we see all the time the same stuff and the cross in a blue halo is burning my eyes every time i want to have fun doing elite on inferno.

Should I use dual wield or shield + weapon?

Got one weapon with 750+ dps atm, wondering if I should buy another one with similar stats or shield.

It is your job to recognize what you can and cannot accomplish. Not to mindlessly toss your gear to the mercy of the mobs. If I run into arcane vortex wallers, i remake. I can only handle so many anti-monk abilities.



Shield for now. Having two weapons can boost your dps due to things like IAS and such. But for now, you definitely need a shield until you are farming act 2-3 inferno.

What stats on shield are I looking for?

not are I but am I

you need to get:

-resistance to stack as high as possible
-vita
-dex
-some nice def
-can be increased attack speed too.

most important are the first 3.

Try to get a high block percentage if you can. Also higher defense is nice as well since you will block more dmg. As for the stats. Vita is a must. So are resists. Dex is nice, but its more important to stay alive, you can whittle down their health as long as your alive. As for bonuses, as skellen said, IAS is nice and can really up what you're capable of.
