New Changes today from new update--- COLD-- they changed Wave of Light - Numbing Light to Cold , Fist of Thunder- Wind Blast to Cold and it also has a decent 1second freeze on the 3rd hit to all enemies in blast radius. So now my gimp cold monk can at least do more sustain dmg until i get more/better cold gear. very happy.

Pillar bell + Hands of Lightning is a GREAT combo.

I've been away for D3 for a little while and want to get back into playing my monk. I've read that rift farming is the quickest way to get some elite gear and that I need to play on at least T1 to get all of the good legendary drops. So I'm looking for a non-gear dependent build for running T1 Rifts in pubs. Here's what I've got so far:

Lose 15% buffed attack speed but gain the dps on every third hit, as well my 94% lightning.

On my CDR monk the spirit isn't an issue but my other the attack speed helps for spirit regen.
