I honestly dont think life regen is a problem at all... i have 250+ life regen on my barb at level 30 and thats not whats stopping people from killing me.
i let a DH get me to 5% health, and still won the duel. Regen = not a problem. Id be more worried about LS.
I 100% agree that flawless should be the highest level gems. No question they are fine for level 30 duels.
Add Ironside#1736 for Lvl 30 LLDs.
Would love to fight a monk / barb / WD as i have only yet to fight a Wiz and a DH.

Regen becomes a big problem once you have enough EHP.
Similar to high level dueling you can't kill something if it rep's more life than you can output dmg.
So stacking both makes for a impossible duel.
I think regen at around 60-70 is fine and works great for fast but exciting duels (nothing under 10 seconds, nothing over a minute usually)
but it really depends on your character.
