Can someone explain this to me please?

I use this "The Keep Depths Level 1" waypoint when getting 5 stacks of NV for Siegebreaker, however, I don't remember ever seeing a chest in this spot.

Now, today, I see this thread, and I try it for myself. I've spawned the map 5+ times now, and still haven't seen a chest.

Bullshit?
