This is my main weapon so far and the fist is magical 500 ish weapon. I can aim for another dagger w/ near stats.

RES RES RES at first

dmg is fine but ur res sucks balls

use shield if u cant afford 2 amazing weapons

aim for more loh

I was 2 weapons for the LoH because I cant find any decent DPS with good LoH thats in my price range lol.

So really just focus on res and I'll be in a lot better situation?

Can anybody tell me how I should improve myself? I am having a lot of trouble in act 2 inferno

1. Put on a shield. You don't have enough LoH and mitigation to justify DWing.
2. Drop a lot of vitality. You're at least 10k life over budget. Trade those pieces in for more armor/resists. Pick a primary resist, and stack resist/allres items with dex on them. Vit is nice to have, but not crucial.
3. You can even afford to drop some dex if it means getting some more armor and resists. 1k dex is a nice spot to be in.

Remember: if you're not using Resolve, all that dex you're stacking is kind of wasted. Drop Beacon for Resolve and see your survivability skyrocket.

LoH is nice, but meeting the minimum DPS requirement is nicer. Given the choice between a 500dps weapon with 500 LoH or an 800 dps weapon without, I'll take the 800 dps weapon any day.

Putting on a shield also allows you to invest into a nicer weapon without having to buy 2 of them to actually benefit from its dps.

What should I look for in a shield? I see people using Storm shield, but that cost alot... I want something that works.

Stats to look for --> +Block%, Vita, Resist (single stack of yur choice), All Res, Dex
Anything else is just frosting on the cake. My current one is ~1000 Armor, 23% total block rate (7% bonus on stats), ~60 vita, ~60dex, ~45 Arcane Resist (im stacking Arcane obviously :P)... the ONE thing i wish it had was additional All Res for stacking. argh!

Actually your stats are pretty good for Act2, the only thing i would probably work on is DEFINITLY a weapon upgrade... but more importantly id try and get at LEAST 1k more armor.
Your other stats are on the money tho, you are on track for progression there. i would consider a shield too... if u find u still have trouble in act2.

I lucked out and found a sacred shield with 1.1k armor, ~70allres, 30 coldres, 90dex, 80 vit... all for 100k.

Not that you may get as good a deal, but it sure as hell is going to be a lot cheaper to get those stats off a shield than it is to buy another big weapon.

Holy hell, i hate you. HAHA 100k is insanely cheap for that! I was lucky enough to find mine, at the time i was really poor.
I can afford a new one but all the ones comparable to mine or even yours are 1mil+ easy. bleh.

Any specific stats besides Res/Armor I should be looking for? I'd assume a Res/Dex/Armor stated shield over 1k armor would be fine but I would like to make sure before I buy anything

Res/Dex/Armor is good. Vitality is a bonus, but probably really expensive, so you can use one without Vit for now. I think a good ~1k shield with just dex and resistances goes for fairly cheap actually - you shouldn't spend more than 200k on it for sure. (which is a HELL of a lot cheaper than a weapon that's good enough to make you drop your shield)

Your IAS is going to take a hit when you drop to using a shield, so now may be a good time to find a pair of gloves that has IAS/dex/resists on them. Again, if you don't look for a perfect roll (i.e. one with vit on it), you should be able to find a good pair for relatively cheap.

And again, start paying attention to armor value when you buy stuff from the AH. Unless it's a HUGE stat upgrade, losing 200 armor on a piece sometimes just isn't worth it. There's a reason why some pieces with great stats are cheap -- particularly when it comes to chest and shoulder pieces.

Another thing: drop the Templar for the Enchantress, stat. Put a nice 2-hander on her (you can buy 900+ dps 2-handers for under 5k -- make sure you look for ones that have high int values, because int goes a LONG way for her dps), and for her skills, get: charm, aoe slow, armor buff, ias aura. That's going to both increase your armor and your DPS by a significant amount -- the best part is, she doesn't even have to be alive for the IAS aura to affect you (or for the armor buff to stay on you, for that matter).

Went and brought this shield for a million, not sure good or bad..

66str, 75dex, 68vit, 63res@, 1348Armor, 17% block

and ofc my damage went down by 500, taking out the magical claw 500 ish damage.

My armor increase from 4500 to almost 6000 w/o any buffs (passive included).

Instead of Evasion, is mantra of healing better?

Well in terms of cost vs value, yay that is afair price, but you needless overpayed for stats you don't really need.
BAsically you could have gotten the SAME stats with a single res instead of ALL res for about 1/3 that cost.
If you wanted to spend big, it should have been to get a dual res one, with the single res stack of your choice AND all res.

No point in spending big unless you get teh right item :P Plus is was probly marked up mostly in mind for barbs that want massive all res and str and armor.
All in all, it is a good shield, i just wouldnt have spent that much on it for a monk specifically.... woulda saved that 1mil for the correct res stack stat :P

Evasion is amazing for 20% armor buff, and passive 15% dodge. Healing Mantra for heals is bad, but the +20% resists is kinda nice if you are desperate for more res.
