1- Bashiok or some other employee said that that monster is diablo.
2- Is that game screenshot even diablo? How does it warrant as any point of reference?

There are supposedly 5 prime evils, Mephisto, Diablo, Baal, Kyoren, and Bactu.Mephisto being chaos. Diablo being Terror. Baal being destruction. Kyoren being Enslavement. And Bactu being the master of puppets, aka the lord prime evil. If the game follows the folk lore books, which so far it has. Depending if theyre making a 4th either Kyoren and Bactu or Kyoren will be next.

the main Villain in Diablo is Diablo himself. Hence the name of the game is Diablo ^_^
