ive been testing around offhands aswell and i can say that EF is #1 dps wise, so im looking for a Life steal / sock / str ANY dmg EF as best offhand
atm using a slayer - 300 dps 9x cd 3LS 800 loh socket
also got dagger 600 dps 85~cd 2.xLS socket
and EF 15x str +0.23 socket 87x dps
ive been testing ghom MP5, this is on hardcore so i cant go higher, dont wanna risk it. Best times ive been getting with EF, after that its a dead end between dagger and slayer, the times are pretty equal with the dagger being slightly faster in average.. but theoretically dagger should be better right? becouse of the 1.5 aps and not because of the actual dmg? any input to this matter?
my mainhand is 1100 dps socket 2.9 LS axe
Depending on your current build, the effectiveness of Echoing fury as an offhand will vary. depends on how much overall damage will the additional 0.25 aps adds. Refer to source for average tick rate calculation.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/6037344497)If the additional 0.25 aps merely increase your average tick rate per second by 5%, then I would not recommend u to change a high based cd dagger to it.
Lets compare these two
Echoing fury 1000dps, +0.25, lifeleech, 100str, soc
Versus
Dagger 750dps, lifeleech, 100str, 90cd plus open socket.
If u r using mainly ww + nado for damage, dagger will be a better choice, as the extra 90% cd outweighs the increase in average tick rate.
I have tested an echoing fury as offhand on azmodan mp10 n realised that dagger is still a better offhand, as extra 90% cd is still more important.
With regard to yr qn about slayer or dagger, it depends on whether dagger aids u in hitting a higher ias breakpoint for ww n nado. Refer to source. If it helps, then u will have to consider stats lifeleech dps etc too.
I would suggest tt u perform more testing to verify which is the better one.
