I played act1 with my DH for quite a few paragon levels till I was able to get better xp in act3. You need at least 230+MF with NV5 to have better chance in act3 than act1 for good drops, till that you can just run whatever is the most xp/hours. (I think you will get more gold in act1 if you only find vendor food)
Anyways, if you play enough, you will get to the point where you find something good, the hardest part is getting started then you will get 1M+/10M+ items daily. (I leveld from 41 to 45 this weekend and got ~23M with just finding shit items, I've got 55MF+paragon+NV5)
I don't know if you have any pickup radius but it's essential for farming a lot.
