Acting and writing was much better in Diablo 2 too
Diablo 3, real quote from cain:
"The world must be told of the coming darkness! You DO believe me, don't you?! It has begun!"
What is that, a cliche factory?
Then you have Diablo himself with quotes like he was in a japanese anime
"Our long war ends today, Imperius!"
"Take one last look at look at your heaven, Imperius! For soon nothing of it shall remain but my laughter!"
Man, you can palpably *feel* the awesomeness drain right out of that character. He's no longer diablo the ineffable lord of terror, he's the freaking hamburglar
Thats villain decay at work, hard. In Diablo 2, Big D had a single line in the entire game, and was a voiceless, threatening evil the rest of the time. He was kept offscreen and that kept him scarier and more iconic. And his only line is "Not even death can save you from me", and he's offscreen when he says it. In this one, you get to see Diablo's eyes flash like he's a my little pony as he mouths "Imperius" in a voice like a homo longing for his estranged partner. His design looks pretty damn stupid too. Old Diablo was like a big scary balrog, wreathed in shadow. Just look at that cinematic where Marius sneaks up on Mephisto in act 3, Diablo doesn't say shit, he erupts to a chorus of wailing voices and spurting blood and gore while a cackling demon heralds his coming. In Diablo 3, you have a shiny anime character who probably starts shipping with adria in the end credits.
And that music was unbelievably generic
i agree in parts, but it is still good... but could've been better ;/
