we didn't, many think baal>belial i guess, belial is the Lord of Lies and Baal is the lord of destruction, they doesn't match

No you kill Belial when getting body parts(diablo's horn,baals eye, mephistos brain) to create a portal to uber Tristram. Why the hell would he be the bad guy in D3?
