No, people rage because its a stupid fucking idea.
Wow players have to pay for the game + expansions + 15$ a month
Starcraft 2 players have to buy 3 seperate games and wait 3 years just to get a finished, balanced game.
And your suggesting we pay a monthly fee to play Diablo.

Next thing you know every pc game has a monthly fee attached.
Stop being braindead and use your fucking head.

Your raged also because there making sc2 in 3 different games? I like this compared to having to wait over a decade for a sequel.

i think u forget, that WOW is still plauged by people cheating and buying ING with their own money. there are still bots that run on those servers too.

Besides, why you're even posting this article on a third party website is beyond me. D2jsp is still considered illegeal to Blizzard. You lose, someone close this stupid thread.

Most of the debate in this thread has been fail. Most of the suggestions and ideas have been fail. And wanting D3 to be P2P is also fail.

Someone basically said it correctly - who the hell pays monthly for a single player co-op RPG? Are you brain-dead? Diablo 2 (And 1...) have had no additional costs, and yet D2 has had one of the strongest runs of any non-P2P RPG (10 years and they still release updates / reset the ladder? D2 was the best $40 I ever spent)

You can complain about how much of a shithole D2 is now, but you realize the spambots and stuff didn't show up until like 5+ years after the game came out, right? At least in force. And it's easy as hell to keep them out of your games.

The argument that 15$ is "cheaper than a cell phone" so we should pay it is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on this site. You know, buying a gallon of gasoline and chugging it is cheaper than a cell phone bill, so maybe you should do that, too.

Also, these kids that argue "If you can't afford $15 a month you are too poor for Diablo" are the same fucking retards that pay $10 for a couple of bad maps on Halo, or $8 for horse armor on Oblivion. Take your monthly fees, your ripoff DLC (that's already on the disc half the time) and suck a bag of dicks. Mindless drones like you are the reason companies feel the desire to try to get away with shit like that. D3 having a monthly fee would be absurd unless they plan on releasing a new Act or Class every month.

Basically, the OP is either a total idiot or a super troller.

:Edit: Oh, and cash shops and in-game advertising are also bad, bad ideas. Games like LOTRO are prime examples of how this is a terrible idea. Basically, you'll go to a new town or whatever, receive some new quests, and then as you go to complete them the game pulls up the Store window and says "You need to purchase this content to continue" - D3 and games in general should avoid this kind of intrusion as it ruins the experience, takes you out of the game, and basically makes you want to choke the hell out of the idiots who run the game.

If we spend $60 on a game, we should own the entire game. If they want to release new content or whatever, make an expansion or two.

Oh, so I guess you dont mind the 40$ every time a exp pack comes out. But a continous montly fee.... oh shit!!!!!!!!

The thing is, a recurring fee doesn't make sense in the case of Diablo 3. Why would we pay monthly? So 3 random people can join our game? We'll be doing the same things we can do offline, for free. If we should pay $15 a month for Diablo 3, then we should pay it for Starcraft 2, CoD, Halo: Reach, anything! The idea is absurd.

Also, expansions are cheaper in the long-term and easier to judge. I could pay $15 a month as they trickle in content that I may or may not like, or they drop a huge expansion that, if I don't find anything that interests me, I can skip over. Not to mention a $60 expansion for D3 will easily take them 12-18 months to drop, that is far cheaper than paying $15/month to kill Andariel and run Travincal a bunch of times.

*Edit* You also have to consider value. D3 will be a wonderful game, but for $60, there is going to be limited content. Like D2, I'll bet the game will focus on late game repetitive runs. Considering that this isn't much better than just killing people on Halo/CoD online all day or playing any number of fantastic MMOs for free, D3 isn't going to be "worth" 15$ a month.

Since when do exp packs cost 60$? Anyway, like I said in this post before. If Blizzard charged 5$ or even 10$ a month I bet no one would even care. They would proly bitch alot(as seen in this post) but still buy the game.
