If it's not pay to play, I give it a week before the duping exploits happen

A pay to play game is the best idea, simply because it guarantees that Blizzard will constantly monitor and update the game; however, I don't know how big of a population will play Diablo 3.

Simply look at World of Warcraft and the kind of effort Blizzard puts into that game. However, Diablo 3 will not be as popular as WOW was / is - simply because the game style is more single than multiplayer based.

World wide, Diablo 3 im guesin maybe a few million players? Maybe more. Im wondering something though. A game like WOW has so many players, can that actually hurt the game? Like for example, Wal Mart creating to many stores and overextending themselves.

How can having too many customers be a bad thing?
If there is such thing as "too many"
Maybe in a small area it could be, but you can't overextend a Wal Mart. :O

Ok guys let get this straight.

If you QQ about paying 10$-15$ a month to pay to play for a game, I think your living in like 1995 first of all.

The reason im saying this is, I dont want Diablo 3 to end up like Diablo 2. I.E, scammmers, bots, cheat, hacks, dupes, spam, non english speakin people who are geting paid 1$ a week in a sweatshop because we want that bad ass item.
Ill go into detail. When a company stops selling there game in mass amounts, they no longer are making decent $$ to support that game, whatever it may be. So charging a small amount every month gives them ability to support it, and solve the problems such as cheaters, viruses, hacks, gold farmers wtf ever...... AND ADD NEW CONTENT, AND FIX THE OLD OFC :)

I personally also wouldnt want the guild wars approach either,...... coming out with an expansion every time someone cries so they can support there non paying game.

If Diablo 3 is not pay to play, I give it a few months before it turns into the shit hole that d2 did.

Opinions? Flames? Donations :) ?

doesnt all this happen in WoW?
so obviously pay to play doesnt make blizzard any better or more diligent at creating/maintaining their games.

why is it that 1 kid can take diablo II and make it a better game than an entire corporation? (im talking about median)
and how come a handful of kids can run better servers than blizzard, and have better cheat detection?

its simple, blizzard sucks

see any valve games come out that get destroyed by cheats? how about ubisoft? or basically any other game manufacturer...

Did I say to many customers? I said to many Wal Marts. Just because they create a new store, doesnt mean its going to be flooded with shoppers every time.

You really try to twist everything I say. Where you in a comma when the financial crisis hit?

No this doesn't happen in WoW lol.
Botters /modders?

The only thing I can say bad about WoW towards anything of that nature would be goldfarmers and sellers.
Other than that, there's pretty much nothing towards hacks/cheats/mods/pvp or pve bots
