damn im so poor, how much res i need to atleast tnak one hit lol, i got that 25% move speed im pretty quick

You will always get hit, no matter how much movespeed you have. Especially in A3 there are several monsters that you just cannot dodge perfectly. Phasebeasts will give you a hard time, Corrupted Angels in A4 will just charge you from offscreen. Also, those licking Beasts in A3 are just insanely fast in inferno and got range. So you will get hit. And that would mean you will die. Especially those lickers, even with 38k hp and 400ish @res I had a hard time there.

Not needed. 400-500ish @res and 35kish hp are enough if you put a good punch behind it.

Hey awesome guide by the way, thanks for all the helpful information!

I just had a quick question. I am currently at 48k dps buffed and 31k health and around 300 Resist all also at 2.03 attacks per sec. I only have 19% movement speed with hammer jammers and 12% boots. I bought a nice Andys with 124 int and 64 vit for around 5 mil and now have around 6 mil to spend. Should I go ahead and save up for some nice Lacunis and gain that 6% movement speed while losing 36 resist all or should I spend some money on a nicer 1 hander with int / vit / ias? Right now I am just using a 876 1 handed mace. Or should I go ahead and replace my two 70 int 15 ias rings that I am using. I just want to have the perfect stats so I can go ahead and tackle siegebreaker runs. Whenever I zone into the WP for the siegebreaker quest before you get to the bridge I run into a bunch of mobs that seem to be giving me a hard time. I am wondering if at my point I should increase my damage or my survivability?

Thanks.

Just some theorycrafting here, skip if you're not interested...

Wiz has some pretty decent "natural" predisposition towards having high resist and armor. Energy armor, prismatic, and the fact that we're already stacking int (which helps resists) for dps, means that points of armor and resists are worth more on a wizard. Further, because of galvanizing ward, we have a natural source of flat health regen, which can be improved with any incidental flat regen from items. Note that it's flat - it's just some number, not a percentage of your health.

My point is this: if you stack a ton of resist all and armor, your damage reduction gets huge. If damage reduction is, say 80% from armor and 80% from resists, that already means only 4% of damage is actually coming through. Any further regular DR only helps more. With galvanizing ward and some other flat health regen, that's the type of damage that can be recovered nearly as fast as it's coming in, letting you tank regardless of your health pool.

This is not to say that vitality is bad - it just gives you deeper reserves so that you can be slowly losing health for longer. And perhaps the conclusion here was already obvious: endgame wizards want items with high resist all, high armor, and high intelligence. Duh. But it seems worth mentioning that really if you have a choice, armor and resists are worth more than vitality, because health regen exists at flat rates.

Why do you say that AS above 2.0 they are getting nothing out of it? Is this specific to your build only? I use arcane torret as my signiture and I love boosting the AS to get more shots off

If I am attacking a mob for 3 seconds, and I have 2.5 vs 2 AS, I get more shots off.
