I used one till I found a good fist, in inferno shield is pretty much necessary esp since my resists sucked.

I've actually never used a shield and have no intentions of doing so outside of a pure mf gear set.

As a monk are yopu supposed to only stack 1 type of resist? Or does it matter if you stack all types?

I mean in terms of the random(cold, fire, poison ect) res stat

It doesn't matter but you'll be hurting yourself.

It's a lot easier to get high resists when you find an item with +all resists and +another resist. Stacking them allows you to reach very high numbers relatively easily.

Got a combat style question (playground is Act 2 Inferno):

Go with:
Fist of Thunder with Thunderclap + Mantra of Evasion with Hard Target + Guardian's Path (Dual Wielding)
or
Fist of Thunder with Lighting Flash + Mantra of Healing with Time of Need + Resolve (Weap+Shield)

The first one gives Teleport + 30% dodge + 20% armor + better DPS, IAS and LoH
On the other hand gives 16% dodge when i hit em + 310hp/sec + 20%res (becomes +104@res actually to my setup) + 25% less dmg monster when i hit em + armor from shield and eventually more @res

IMO, if you don't use Thunderclap, then you shouldn't be using FoT. Deadly Reech with Keen Eye or Foresight are better alternatives to FoT+Lightning Flash.

I'm getting a bit stuck on Act 4. I managed to down Istaku and Rakanoth, but the Gardens trash are just owning me (Oppressors and Subjugators so OP). Do people make any modifications to their build when approaching A4, or particularly, what kind of stats do you expect to have by the time you start progressing through A4? Do you go for more offense than in previous acts, more defense, or about the same balance?

uhm... partially agree, i still find the 16% dodge chance suitable, anyway:
does deadly reach have the knockback/interrupt effect on third hit? i dont remember :p
if i go deadly reach i'll use keen eye for sure but, once again, only if it gives the KB effect

So people are using dual weapons in inferno?

There someone selling a 1.40 speed Fist that does 950+ damage w/ open socket. Would this be to slow to fend off mobs in Inferno?

I am still in the process of acquiring a secondary ring. If speed is important, I can look for ias on my upcoming ring? Dunno if its a benefit or not, cuz 1.40 + 15% is low, compared to a few 2.0+ speed I saw a few page back.
