is it possible to use a hand xbow and a shield?

Awesome guide. At the moment I'm pretty bored with my demon hunter, with 155k dps with the standard manticore and DML. I've always liked the dual wield style better, the animations, the speed, all of it, and I didn't know it was viable. I will definitely give this a shot. Is Calamity the way to go then? or just a couple high dps xbows with sockets? Do they need to be crit dam AND socket? Shopping around when I'm back from work.

delays on both skills would hurt a lot on higher mps. On lower mps thats fine since the AOE on the spike traps is pretty awesome.



Calamitys is the best hand xbow at the moment, and a good danetta's spite since thats the only viable OH atm since as there are no amazing hand xbows on the market.

Wondering what would be better for me to solo on my DH, atm I'm using Calamity + Danette's would 1 bow + dead man be better for a little less damage but more life?

I swap between the 2 depending on the build, damage loss is ~10k depending on how good your DML is, and ofc the better the less damage loss. With my setup with DML the life increase is about 10k and ias hits 2.99. Once next patch hits its all probably going to change if crafting gets a revamp, then we will see better offhands which MIGHT make a DML obsolete on a good roll.

But ya the point comes to is for more survivability DML is the way to go, but if you feel comfortable with your HP and stuff (I hit like 75k hp w/o DML) then I would use a danettas, but again it all comes down to the build you wanna use.

only problem is with Dead mans i only hit 272 cd (regular 415), lose 6k dmg but gain 14k life. Also my attacks per second go from 2.24 to 2.16

Would it be to much of a loss to switch and stick with my 2x crossbows?

6k damage isnt a lot (well it might be idk what your dps really is), and losing cd just means you'll see smaller yellow numbers, but you'll see more of them if your shooting faster. 14k hp is a lot, but might not be needed if you already have high life.
