They just patched the Quickening / SW setup, going to be experimenting with some builds.

Will be trying this, although i'm worried about the lack of serenity, not looking forward to getting 1 shot.

What about it got patched?

Anyone else have trouble with the any elemental elites? If there fast I have no chance it seems, even absorbing. I have over 300 res to everything too

Wow i haven't checked this thread in a couple days and it has 53 replies and 2700 views.. ANywho.. I've gone through and solo'd the butcher in inferno. I obliterate almost every elite mob in act1 inferno.
Act2 on the other hand is a different story, my first attempt i couldn't make it 50 feet into the first level without dying 20 times. The increase in damage from normal mobs in act 2 is ridiculous.

Here is my current build
Sword and Board

6752dps (569.4 dps weapon / 933 dext which is kind of low)
41051hp (1165 Vitality)
5223 Armor (63.52% reduction)
339 Resistances (53.05% reduction)
28.7% chance to dodge (still low)

Now for all my skills

1. Breath of Heaven (Penitent Flame - AOE Fear)
2. Serenity (Peaceful Repose - heals you)
3. Blinding Flash (Blinding Echo - causes a second flash)
4. Mantra of Healing (Boon of Protection - Shield)

Left Click. Crippling Wave (Rising Tide - increased range and attck/move speed reduction)
Right Click. Cyclone Strike (Soothing Breeze - Heals you)

The bold talent i'm using is new and i'm not sure if the soothing breeze heal is worth it, at least in solo play, it doesn't heal me much for what it costs when i can spam mantra of healing twice and heal for much much more.
I'm using it primarily as help for my damage to pull monsters in so my crippling wave can obliterate them all.

Edit: I just changed to wall of wind and gain 14% dodge for a short time.. going to run with this for now.

Passives:
1. Resolve (25% enemy damage reduction for 2.5 seconds)
2. One with everything (highest res becomes all your res)
3. Seize the Initiative (100% of your dext becomes armor)

Why do i run this build? Sufficient dps for now, i'm still slowly increasing it. But the main reason is the chain disable

I'm gonna have to try the cyclone breeze out. Ive been running fists with quickening, but ive always likes crippling wave. It feels like it is sooo much better crowd control.

Ditto. I just started act 2 inferno myself and get RAPED, while I can own act 1 inferno. It's kinda silly.

Also, Cyclone Strike with a chance to fear > the heal.

Feared enemies means you aren't taking damage to begin with so there is no need to heal. Think proactive damage reduction bro.

@InsomniA9. Try crippling wave with the damage reduction rune instead of move speed reduction. That way you can free up your resolve passive for something else.
Not sure if this is even better (it could possibly be worse) but just an idea to toy around with. I'm not even home atm to play around, but I do like your build.

Grats on soloing butcher as a tank.... no easy task.

I've been moving pretty easily through act 1 so far, stopped cause I just needed a break.

Still have trouble with the shielded arcane sentry elites....Think I just need to skip them up, they just take to long to kill, and by the time u wound them enough you get overrun with sentrys :(

I'm tinkering around with perminantly going dual-wield for the convenience of killing elite mobs twice as fast.. but still maintaining a decent amount of disables... I"ll update on a dual wield build later on!
