If it were me, I'd rather do it myself and learn a few things, but that's just me. I mean, it's like throwing money at a problem - just throwing gear at the guy isn't gonna make him "get" the game...so at least try to describe what you are doing for him, haha

haha yeah, I'm going to tell him how to and what to do with this.

Just have him geared up for mp0-1 farming runs, so that he can start lvling and farming at the same time.

You know all those threads you read about "nothing is selling on the AH!" and you brush it off and think "not for me"? Well I think it's happening to me... I've had zero sales for almost a week and the last two weeks have been SLOW o_O I usually look up items on the AH and undercut the listings by about 50-75%. For items above 2 million, I only undercut by about 25%. I feel like this patch made everything so cheap and abundant that nothing really sells outside of "Best in slot" items... Any AH tips, thoughts?

Hmm.. I think I said this before somewhere.

Most of my daily sales are rare items that are under 1mil.

Sometimes, I hit a jackpot and sell some legendary or set item for +30mil.

I play 1-1.5hours pretty much everyday and I can have 10 items for sales.

Nowadays, I just take off the items and relist them 1-2 hours after I list them. Because if it goes under 1d9h, it probably won't sell.

And I usually just put the starting bid and buyout price as the same price so people won't wait when they see the item. It's either LET ME BUY THIS SHIT BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES @ 1D11H or THIS SELLER IS DUMBASS.

And if the item doesn't sell for like 150k, I just vendor it.

I really do appreciate the help man, I'm also hoping to come out of this with a better understanding of things as well.

Hmm... I think the most basic thing to learn about gearing is the concept of Effect Hit Points (EHP). It's your actual health as opposed to just the red ball of HP on your bottom left corner. Basically, armor and resistances increase the "quality" of each health point, so often you'll find monks running around mp10 with only 50K health, but in reality they have over a million EHP (shield monks).

The same thing goes for DPS. Crit chance and damage create a multiplicative property where the more you have, the more benefit from those stats you get. That's why people stack crit.

Try poking around www.d3up.com and look up your profile.

It's difficult for me because of my time zone... I play when most players are sleeping :/ Maybe I should just open auction everything, lol.

I mean it's pretty good that it has 12% fot dmg, but I don't know. I wouldn't pay 80million for it personally.

Well, compared to a 5.5 crit mempo, it's like 1/10th the cost, ~30 less resist, but 40 more vita... so it really comes down to 8/9% IAS vs. 12% FoT... Monks do about half their damage with Fot and the other half with Cyclone, so it's like comparing 8/9 IAS to a 6% overall damage increase (more or less the same depending on base stats)... In a way, you got a really cheap mempo!
