damn, not even close.
I got to 60 on my Monk yesterday.
Got 32K DPS on my normal build (26K with the slow 2 hander)
so what kind of DPS is adviced to speed run Alkaizers on MP0?
Monks basically improve the speed of their runs in 2 ways:
1) Reducing travel time between enemies - Tempest Rush: tailwind is the big one here, but it needs spirit regeneration from your gear to be channeled for a long time. Passives like fleet footed and guardian's path, exalted soul and chant of resonance help too.
2) Killing mobs quickly - DPS matters the most here, but so does defense. Dying and running away from enemies takes up time. Unfortunately, monks deal damage through melee, so we can't go full glass cannon.
@32K dps, your best bet is to use exalted soul and fleet footed. Because of your low DPS, you'll need a lot of attacks to finish a mob, but that translates to lots of spirit. With the bonus 100 spirit from exalted soul, you should be able to cut down travel time with tempest rush. Fleet footed is nice to have because faster movespeed means less spirit needed from mob A to mob B. However, if you need defensive passives, then you might want to build up your defense first, but don't overdo it. MP0 can be done with relatively low defense. You can to concentrate your gold on DPS and get by with a bare minimum of defense. DPS comes in the form of crit chance and crit damage (attack speed increases tempest rush spirit consumption).
As your gear up, consider items that increase spirit regeneration. Inna's Radiance is perhaps the cheapest and best overall improvement. A stone of Jordan can help too, but it's expensive. Xephiran amulet is also a possibility, but it's generally not a very good amulet. You don't need infinite tempest rush to benefit from it. You only need enough spirit (pool and regeneration) to tempest rush between mobs.
