qgan is right. You will always encounter mobs that you cannot kill. Invoulnerable minions is a killer feat, for example.

So I'm basically using this exact build.... Buuut I have one significant change.. Using force armor, I basically can not die in one hit... Now your prolly all saying, "dude I'f u get hit with a 50k crit ur Gunna get one hit" but my argument is based on the fact that any player who cares about there wizard enough to search for builds should understand that the whole stratagey of using a wizard is to NOT take the 50k crit to the face...

But anyways, with that said, I've found a lot of succes using extremely smalls max HP pools. Definatley under 10k. Mine is 6.2k right now. I have fairly cheap gear but I'm already at about 1.8k life regeneration per second... This is stupid good.

Think about it... 35% of 6k is about 2k. If I gain 1.8k life per second (with mediocre gear) my life bar refills faster than monsters can chop it down. If your hit 3 times in under a second by a really strong monster you will die... But you have teleport, c'mon. If u can't get away before the third hit... You shouldnt be playing as a wizard.

You obviously have not run into an elite pack of soul rippers or phase beasts.

Force armor doesn't work like that anymore. You do not "basically" survive 2 hits with a low hp pool. Anything that hits you for 12.4 damage will one-hit you in--and every monster in inferno will be doing at least that much. And it's impossible not to get hit completely. No amount of skill will could possibly help you avoid every single attack . . . that would require superhuman reflexes--or, more likely, some sort of hack.

Your change could only work for so long. Once you reach Inferno Act 2+, you will have to stack up on life.

Hello Guys,

i've been thinking about something for like hours, and it seem that i can't get a solution by myself. Basically i wanna FINISH, and by finish i mean MAX OUT GEAR, on my Mage. Im currently at only 35k HP, 54k DPS and ~500@. Attackspeed is really fast. But i don't know what the best way to upgrade my mage does look like. Should i ignore @ and get mass Int/Vita + IAS. Or go for @ Gear + Int/Vit sacrificing some DPS. Can't solve that since i've basically downed everything in this game on my own but i really really wanna get this char to the max.

Both ways should work. I suggest going for int/vita/ias to reach ridiculous dps numbers--but that may just be me.

So I've been slowly dropping Int a bit at a time to gain more vit and res all. Currently ~1750 Int, 51.3k dps, 41k life, 480-600 @res with force armor and glass cannon on. What would you approximate is the breakpoint for when you can switch from force armor to prismatic armor? Thanks.

I would say you should try it now. It probably won't work as well as force yet in a lot of situations (you'd need more life), but you'd be getting hit for less damage from anything that doesn't exceed your max life. I saw a Wizard once with around 700 res, 50k, and prismatic--it worked really, really well.

Templar is a good choice--anything with heal is useful, of course. And that one taunt is a possibility.

Depends. Are you going to continue kiting, or switch over to pure dps and just melt faces?

I would suggest to continue kiting and using a 1-hander. Much faster. You'd be able twitch out a blizzard with high ias.
