the blinding flash works both as cc and a giant boost to sweeping winds damage. Since sweeping winds is based on your dps on activation, doing it after a blinding flash essentially makes it 30% better and keeps it after the 3 seconds until sweeping winds dies... Combo strike/ breath and foresight can do this as well, but 30% is the most by far... Unless you run combo strike with all 4 spirit regens, lol... Come to think of it...
Hrmm, guess I should start using blinding flash again. And didn't know that about sweeping wind, so does it also only use your mainhands weapon damage only?

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Jet-1853/hero/2705542I jump in with blind, overawe and cyclones.
The yellow crit numbers I see goes over 300K with 928 Butchers and 996 EF (85K dmg, 30% crit & 314 cd)
If I use 928 Butchers and 948 sword (91K dmg, 30% crit & 414 cd ... crit numers goes over 400K)
I don't know why ... maybe because of the extra stacking dmg from blind & overawe.
I use both Butchers and EF at the same time.
If monsters run away from EF fear .... my butchers will grab them back.
Oh yeah overawe. Still though, running overawe with deadly reach and healing breath damage bonus still barely got me 200k crits (with approximately the same weapon damages and CHD as you).
Could be because of blinding flash and it's odd damage enhancing, and or your fair bit more dex making weapon damage higher.
