Hey guys, I just recently returned to D3 after a very long hiatus. This is my current WD setup and I enjoy the build. I'm not sure what I should be doing MP wise. I can handle all the nonelites without difficulty in fields of misery on 10. Elites are a struggle. Might be me just being new to the WD build. Anyway, I'm mainly looking to see what order I should try and upgrade the items I'm using.

go for mp7~9 if u are struggling with mp10 elites.

u will prob need at least minimum 200k dps to clear mp10 (under 200k is a bit slow)

and u will need to work on ur armor/all res as well

If you can't do elites on a particular mp, you're not ready for that mp - even if you can kill the normal white monsters.
Your items are fine, but slight variations on them will do wonders. Picking up pickup radius on 2 slots (go for either on your Vile Wards, boots, belt, or armor) will help immensely. Your armor is low, so try getting some on your armor or gloves or something. And you need more all res, which is easy by crafting better bracers, getting proper gloves or crafting them, or getting them on your boots or WH. Your dps is fine for mp10 act 1, you won't be quick but if you increase your armor to around 3,600+ and get more all res + pickup radius, you will be fine. I'm saying that from personal experience, my dps is not much higher than yours (185k) and we have the same amount of life, but I have +501 all res, and 3,800 armor and I pretty much breeze through mp10 Act (and I only have pickup radius on 1 slot).

Hey there!
I do not really know what to upgrade next.
I made it to 2.3bil gold but I am so unsure about on which slot I should use it.
I am playing mp8 right now with some deaths per runs. My dps seems to be quite okay but I guess I am still lagging more ehp.
I am trying to upgrade my gloves/shoulders/bracers in that order but where to put the gold in?

Or should I start building a barb with that amount of gold because I cant afford the top WD items and the fact I can play smooth with my WD is enough to let him stay at this posistion.
Would be nice to hear some oppinions.

best regards

ah and here is he:

And one last question!
should I craft vita or int gloves?

on a skorn setup, 160k dps are easily enough to clear mp10 act1 efficiently if the ehp, skills and playstyle are correct.
like koston said, get one additional pickup radius slot and get more armor. some more res would also be good.

the biggest issue i see is your skill setup:

zombie dogs and sacrifice wont help you that much during fights because you cant cast these skills without interrupting your bats channeling, so get rid of them. replace them with big bad voodoo (slam dance) and either hex or paranoia (with the respective damage rune). voodoo in particular really helps with nasty elites.
additionally, umbral shock on your spirit walk is utter garbage. replace it with honored guest to help with mana regen.
with these changes, you dont need blood ritual anymore and can replace it with spirit vessel. this passive allows you to survive much more elite packs. on top of that, it means that you can use spirit walk more frequently, for cc immunity and mana regen.

also note that wd is a class with very powerful, but resource-intensive attack skills. the consequence is that positioning is MUCH more important on wds than on other classes. having some experience with wds will definitely help you with this positioning, its a matter of practice. so dont get discouraged if you cant play your wd to the max of its capabilities yet. ;)

If you're wanting to build a barb go for it. If you can be happy with where your WD is now, which he is pretty good overall. You're damage is good, you're only lacking just a little bit in ehp

Big mistake on my part, didn't even look at his skill setup

You can run bears but firebats are definitely "whats in"

For the record, your dps, life, all res, and armor are all more than enough for mp10 Act 1. If you're dying on mp8 act 1, there may be something wrong with your playstyle.
What exactly are you dying to? Our stats are around the same and I don't think I ever really die mp10 act 1, unless it's some unusually hard elite, but I can't recall that happening even occasionally. Maybe once in a blue moon...
Your life is fine, you don't ever need to craft vita gloves, craft int gloves only.
Are you talking about acts 2 or 3? Because then I would understand, acts 2 and 3 are much harder for our char type of WD since many elite packs like to move around and run away, and we all know firebats largely depends on you being able to stay in one spot and having the monsters flock to you. Acts 2 and 3 are possible but it requires a switch of skills, and the utilization of our good ol' zombie bears.

Act 1 is really no problem for my wd but I am doing vota runs for essence farming and those annoying running elite creeps with plague or reflect dmg are really annoying in there. So I think I might need more @ and more life.
But buying upgrades is so freaking expensive at this stage and I might be more interessted in a Barb which is also quite well and I heard that it is much cheaper to build up a viable barb than a wd. Maybe it is fun to switch the class from time
to time.

Thanks for your advice and comments! (This goes to spanky6390 aswell! =) )

The problem is - you can have the top gear and still have problems with those particular elites in VotA. They are any firebats WD's weakness because of the way they move around and run away. It's really not that your gear is lacking, your WD is pretty good and well-balanced, it's more that WD's are geared for a1 unless you want to put in zombie bears. A lot of top WDs can farm a2 and a3 only because they switch back and forth from using firebats to the traditional zombie bears for those pesky elites. I recommend trying it, you may be pleasantly surprised. A barb is probably the most viable character you can make on d3, but it's really no fun because everyone's got the same exact one and they are overpowered. I believe a lot of people make WDs for the challenge/wanting to not follow everyone else. When i got bored of my WD, I made a monk (which is still more viable than a WD, imo), dumped my remaining gold which was like 500m only, and he can do mp9 solo, and it's way fun.

Anyhow no matter what you do, good luck and have fun with it
