Quick question - on weapons, I understand that the base weapon damage is very important for a sorc. Do the modifiers to anything? I.e. the +xxx-xxx arcane/poison/whatever damage? Do those count towards the DPS as shown on screen?

Ah, I've forgotten to mention that this would only work for a 2-hander. 1-handers are too fast and will waste arcane power too rapidly.

As it is currently understood among mathematicians and experimenters, channeled spells (like Hydra and Ray of Frost) draw power from Dps. The higher your Dps, the harder Hydra will hit. On the other hand, spells like Arcane Orb, Blizzard, and Meteor depend on average character damage (which is based on average weapon damage).

As for the + (poison/arcane/cold/etc.) damage modifiers:

They are already calculated into the white minimum and maximum damage numbers and the DPS on the weapon.

Sounds good, thank you. Makes my life more complicated.

When you say "average weapon damage" for the casted spells, that is to include the damage modifiers then? Like my 300-500 white damage weapon with +200-300 poison damage, the Meteor will based it's 200% damage off the modified 500-800 damage?

Correct. It will be hitting for an average damage of 1,300 per hit (650 * 2) before int, skill, and crit modifiers. --An orb's +dmg mod is a part of the weapon, btw.

got 25frw 32k hp 49kdps (buffed) 2,74aps 200-300@

the problem is i barely make damage other way than spamming things (770dps 1,74ias weapon)
should i swap it for some high dmg 2hander?
using blizzard/shock pulse/hydra energy armor/magic weapon/teleport

stuck at a3 inferno (q1) cause cant deal with champions

You really shouldn't have a problem with a3. Difficult, sure; so you just kite better.

Don't switch to a 2 hander, but instead a better 1 hander--more dps.

been using this weapon, blizzard/hydra dmg is so low atm
gonna get ~900dps 1,4 weapon instead i guess

fail, just soloed diablo inferno yesterday, also farming siegebreaker / azmodan really fast and havent got any problems with any elite. (Ofc. some are excluded like, Minion Shield + Extra Life + Damage Return + Vortex or stuff like that - Just skipping these with Wormhole Teleport.)

Thx for the idea @ op, been using this spec even without you posting it before but replaced hydra with poison hydra props to you.
