Wrong.Ive played WOW, DAOC,WARHAMMER ONLINE, AION, EVERCRACK. Thats just the ones that i was competitive at. Ive played more but not on a hardcore basis. Tell me this, do you think WOW has better support then diablo 2? When i join diablo 2 I get 10 pages of spam and tells from farm sites saying to buy shit... come on.... Sure WOW has gold farmers but no game will be 100% problem free.
I still actively play D2 and I've never seen these 10 pages of spam, which I just assume is a slight exaggeration. There are many different ways to get around the spam. Avoiding the public channels and setting level restrictions for games generally takes care of the problem. Yes, I have made games with level 1 characters that had no spam bots join at all simply because of level restrictions. Don't ask me why it seems to keep them out when I set it with a level 1 character, it just does. Look at D2, though. Spammers. That's basically it. In WoW you have the spammers, the hackers that aid the spammers by messing with the physics, a 4 - 5 day wait for customer service for simple issues, and uninformative (or just plain dumb) customer service reps that can't actually help you with your problems. For D2, I've never encountered a problem that couldn't be solved simply by taking 5 minutes of my own time to look the answers up on the help site. I'll take "10 pages" of spam over the hundreds of scam attempts any day. Seriously, why would you want to pay to play a game that's already listed is free to play? That's investing in something that has 0 return and a constant threat of being hacked and losing everything you payed so much to obtain, unless you pay even more money for the security that should have been provided in the first place. Yes, D2 accounts still get hacked, but there's no monetary investment in those accounts (which you can make an infinite number of anyway). Besides, there's only going to be 3 - 4 characters per game anyway. Bump it to 40 or 50 at least and you might have a valid point
Wall o' text ftw!
